Recycled plastic fishing pegs offer significant benefits over traditional wood. Essentially, recycled plastic will not rot, meaning the platforms will not need replacing. Wooden fishing platforms rot and become unsafe, sometimes in a matter of a few years. They also need constant maintenance and treatment. BRPs recycled plastic fishing pegs render this unnecessary. They are also algae and moss proof, will not splinter or crack, and due to the rougher surface texture of the recycled plastic material the platforms are less slippery than wood.
